Young fencers compete across Foil, Epee and Sabre categories; Samriddhi Sharma also features in the U-12 category

Lucknow: A district-level fencing championship was organised at Rajkumar Academy, Rajajipuram, bringing together young players from different age groups. Participants competed with enthusiasm in the Foil, Epee and Sabre disciplines.
The event was attended by Rajkumar Academy Director Raghav Bakshi, Principal Anup Raj, Former International Fencer and Principal of St. Teresa’s Day School and College, Mr. Peter Fanthom Junior, and fitness coach and entrepreneur Shekhar Mishra. Officials of the Fencing Association of Uttar Pradesh were also present to encourage the participants and wish them success in their sporting careers.
Strong performances across age groups
Players in the U-12, U-14 and U-17 categories put up impressive performances during the championship. Among the notable performers were Ranvijay, Pallavi, Naitik, Alankrita Jaiswal, Lakshya Chaurasia, Mahi Gupta, Arindam Shukla, Lokendra Kumar, Utkarsh Pandey, Swarnima Singh Solanki, Shivangi Patel and Sara Singh, who secured positions in their respective events.
Samriddhi Sharma also featured among the U-12 participants and should be included in the list of players from the category.
In the U-19 Epee girls’ category, Anushi Gupta secured first place, while Kanika Mishra finished third in the U-14 Epee category.
The academy management congratulated all the winners as well as participating players for their performances. Officials and guests also encouraged the young fencers to continue their training and work towards achieving greater success at higher levels of competition.
The championship provided young players an opportunity to compete in a structured district-level event and showcase their skills across the three major fencing disciplines.
