Six players advance in Men’s Singles, while four UP players secure their places in the Women’s Singles main draw
Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh has secured 10 spots in the senior main draw of the National Ranking Table Tennis Event being held in Kanpur, with players advancing in both the Senior Men’s Singles and Senior Women’s Singles categories.
In Senior Men’s Singles, six UP players cleared the qualification stage, Sarth Mishra, Ansh Sabharwal, Satyam Giri Gupta, Garv Singla, Shivam Chaurasiya and Sarthak Seth.
The state also has four representatives through to the Senior Women’s Singles main draw. Avani Tripathi, Aarti Chaudhary, Swarada Sane and Disha successfully secured their places after the qualifying rounds.
The 10 qualifiers will now compete in the senior main draw, where the level of competition is expected to rise as they take on players from across the country. For the UP contingent, the next stage presents an opportunity to build on their performances in the qualifiers and make a deeper run in the tournament.
The strong representation in both senior singles categories adds to Uttar Pradesh’s presence at the Kanpur National Ranking event, with the state’s players now aiming to make an impact in the main draw.
